the serenity and beauty of browsing and sitting
in a clean, relaxed, and quiet environment
PBMLD serves Poplar Bluff and surrounding
communities including Butler, Dunklin, Ripley,
Stoddard, and Wayne counties to provide widespread
As a volunteer you receive opportunities to learn
skills such as book mending and new material processing.
You are invited to assist with library events,
and provide feedback and input on library programs.
Volunteers contribute to staff morale, stretch
library resources and provide the community with a
greater level of excellent service.
The staff and Library Board recognize you as an
integral part of the library’s success story. You will
become a very knowledgeable and efficient user of
information; and will be one of the first in the
“know” about library events and new materials.
Volunteers give their time to improve the appearance
of the library collection and improve access to
materials. A library volunteer will be working in an
office environment with established guidelines. These
are put in place to protect the volunteer and the library.
