Newspaper Microfilm Archive
The library maintains the local Poplar Bluff newspaper on microfilm
dating back to 1877. This collection is not conclusive, particularly in the earliest editions. Using microfilm
on the library’s microfilm equipment is easy. Library users may view, print, save or email
pages from the local newspaper archive. The library also borrows microfilm from other libraries for a small
fee.

provides access to select digitized Missouri newspapers with advanced settings that allow you to search by
keyword, date, and location.

Missouri Digitial Heritage Newspaper Project
The State Historical Society of Missouri provides free access to an
ever growing collection of digitized historic
newspapers. These images are freely available to the public and are keyword-searchable.
Other digitzied historic newspaper collections inclue the National
Digital Newspaper Program and the Library of Congress’s Chronicling America. which
ultimately aims to include newspaper pages from all states and U.S. territories in its collection.

Source™ provides cover-to-cover full text for more than 40 national (U.S.) and international
newspapers, including Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, The
Times (London), Toronto Star, etc. The database also contains selective full text for more than 370 regional
(U.S.) newspapers. In addition, full-text television & radio news transcripts are provided from CBS News,
CNN, CNN International, FOX News, NPR, etc.

Yearbooks
The library has available digital copies of area yearbooks. The
digital yearbooks are provided in keyword searchable PDF files.
You are welcome to download yearbooks from this webpage at no cost.
For staff assisted copies of a yearbook, the cost is $10.00 per year plus the cost of a USB Drive ($6.00).
Each yearbook is a varying amount of memory. The library will make every effort to put as many yearbooks as
possible on one USB drive. If more USB drives are needed to fulfill a yearbook request, the library will
charge accordingly.
