Free Computer Classes @ your Library

Improve your career when you gain and expand your professional and personal computer skills with these free classes now available in the library's recently upgraded Computer Lab. The Computer Lab is equipped with touchscreen Windows 10 laptops and Microsoft Office 2013 software. All classes are free and open to the public. Space is limited, so signing up is recommended. To register, fill out the online form, call (573) 686 - 8639, or email library@poplarbluff.org with the classes you are interested in.

No time for classes? No problem. You can still upgrade your computer skills with the library's self-paced tutorials delivered via interactive, instructional videos and software. See the sidebar for more details.

Designed for the new computer user and presented at a relaxed pace. You are encouraged to repeat these classes as many times as you wish. Please see the "DIY" section to see what you need to do the things you've learned in class at home.

What is a computer?

​Windows has changed over years. This class covers the Windows basics and the changes brought with the new Windows 10 operating system.

Internet Basics

​What is the internet, and is it still cool to "surf" it? Learn how to "surf" by using the URL bar, bookmark your favorite websites (including Poplar Bluff Library), tab-browse and more!

​Sending mail is fun, but so is sending electronic mail, or e-mail. This class covers the steps to make an email acount, add contacts, send mail and receive mail.
